Campgrounds in Homer Alaska!

Homer is located at the end of the Sterling Highway and is home to one of Alaska's finest fleets of fishing vessels. Homer is also the top destination on the Kenai Peninsula for Alaska's residents and for the visitors to the Kenai as well. There is good reason for this. Homer is a picturesque seaside town featured in travel magazines around the world for its beauty and abundance of recreational activities that have spelled Alaska in the hearts of people all over.

Homer has a number of camping areas that span from beach tent camping to full service RV parks. There is a lesser known camping area located on the hillside behind the hospital that is operated by the city.

  • Karen Hornaday Park, accessed via Bartlett Avenue and Fairview Avenues offers 33 campsites for tents and RV's. Dry camping only, no hookups for RV's.

Campgrounds on the Homer Spit range from City of Homer operated dry camping areas on the beach to cozy and comfortable commercial RV sites operated by private parties. Prices vary greatly from $12.00 per site per night to $78.00 per night per site.

Also available is a beachfront campground located on the waterfront adjecent to Bishop’s Beach in old town Homer. The Driftwood Inn RV Park is the local choice for a quieter setting in the historical distric of Homer.
